Year 6 Art- drawing skills

10th October 2024

This half term, Year 6 have been carrying out close observational drawings and learning a variety of different techniques to use with colouring pencils. First, we used some of our sketching skills to draw natural objects such as leaves, feathers, flowers and twigs. Then we practised different techniques using colouring pencils such as: burnishing, directional lines, crosshatching, scumbling, blending and wet blending. We then applied all of our skills to drawing chocolate wrappers! Yes, you heard us correctly…chocolate wrappers! We are absolutely loving this drawing project and we hope you agree that our close observational drawings (so far!) are very true to life!
