Y1 Polar Explorer Visit

18th June 2024
As part of our Geography and History learning about the polar regions, Y1 enjoyed meeting Dr Ruth Mugford, an Ocean/Ice Modeller, who told them about her visit to the Arctic. She explained how travelling to the polar regions has changed over time and what she did when she was there. The children were allowed to try on a range of clothes from the British Antarctic Survey that researchers wear when they visit the polar regions. They also completed a science experiment to find out whether ice would melt more quickly in water or in the air. We are so grateful to Dr Mugford for visiting us, we had such a great time.
