Reading trophies and AJ the attendance bear

17th October 2022
EYFS and KS1 trophy

In EYFS/KS1 we aim for all children to have at least 5 recorded reads in their reading diaries every week. This helps grown-ups in school to understand the books children have been enjoying at home. The trophy is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of children achieving their target of at least 5 reads.
This week Class 6 won the trophy with 89%, Class 1 and 3 came joint second with 72% and Class 2 came third with 71%. Well done everyone and please do remember to record in your child's reading in their diary to help them win the trophy for their class.
Key Stage 2 trophies
In Key Stage 2, children are asked to read for at least 30 minutes a day. Some of this reading time is provided in class, within the school day, and some should take place at home. The reading trophies are awarded to the class in each phase (Lower KS2 and Upper KS2) with the highest average reading times.

This week Class 10 have won the Lower Key Stage 2 trophy with an average of 54 minutes a day reading. The Upper Key Stage 2 reading trophy has been won by Class 14 with a very impressive average of 71 minutes per day.
You can see how well each of the other classes did on the reading minute tables in the album below.
AJ the Attendance Bear

Last week Class 6 had the best attendance in the school. This means they get to look after AJ the Attendance Bear in their class for the week. Well done Class 6!
